WIU-QC Chess Club to Host October Chess Tournament

MOLINE, IL – The Western Illinois University- Quad Cities Chess Club is hosting a chess tournament from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15 at WIU-QC Riverfront Hall, rooms 103/104.

The tournament, which will include WIU-QC students, WIU Leathernecks Chess Club Moline and the Illowa Chess Club from the Quad Cities, is designed to explore students' minds through strategy and determination, while forming new relationships.

Registration is required to participate, and can be completed the day of the tournament from 8:30-9:30 a.m. USCF membership is required for group two registration only.

Schedule of tournament includes:

Group 1 rounds: 10 a.m. start, 11:30 a.m. start, 1 p.m. start and 2:30 p.m. start.
Group 2 rounds: 10 a.m. start, 12 p.m. start, 2 p.m. start and 4 p.m. start.

Free pizza, snacks and soft drinks will be served. Prizes for top finishers will be awarded following the tournament.
