- Dr. Harry Garuba, Scholar-in-Residence, will present a lecture open to the community-at-large.
Harry Garuba, Poet and Scholar
Currently a Mandela Fellow at Harvard University's DuBois Institute, Dr. Harry Garuba is a Poet and Professor of African Literature and Postcolonial Literary and Cultural Theory at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. Dr.Garuba will be at WIU on a short visit as Scholar-in-Residence, based in the Department of African American Studies, and visiting classes and programs across the campus, from November 7 - 11, 2005. He will be located in Morgan Hall 232A, within the AAS department office.
Dr. Garuba's residency is being sponsored by the African American Studies Department, the English and Journalism Department, the Visiting Lecturer's Committee, the Center for International Studies and the Indigenous Africa and Diaspora Discourse Project (IADDP).
