OBJECTIVE: To obtain a position within the agriculture business industry that will allow me to use and build on my acquired skills and knowledge.

QUALIFICATIONS

I come from a strong agriculture background where I was very active in 4-H, FFA, and working on our family farm. I have furthered my interest in agriculture by becoming involved in many agriculture organizations as well as completing my bachelor’s degree in agriculture at Western Illinois University. I have obtained international experience to expose myself to other cultures and international business. I am currently working on my MBA with an emphasis in management in order to diversify my background and increase my knowledge of the business world. I am a very hardworking, responsible, and determined person who works well with others. I believe that the skills and knowledge that I have obtained will allow me to work to my highest potential.

INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE

Summer 2002 Study Abroad UEPG , Ponta Grossa, Brazil and UNESP, Sao Paulo, Brazil 

Studied Portuguese for 2 weeks at the University of Ponta Grossa. Studied Brazilian agriculture for 2 weeks at the University of Sao Paulo. Toured corporate farms and agriculture related businesses to learn about Brazilian agriculture crops and processes. Toured 4 Brazilian states to further our knowledge of Portuguese, Brazilian culture, and Brazilian agriculture.

WORK EXPERIENCE

2002-2003 Graduate Research Assistant, Western Illinois University Macomb, IL.

Conducted research on the requirements associated with the Associate in Applied Science Degree in Agriculture for Joliet Junior College. Conducted personal interviews with 108 students from 6 Illinois Community colleges, 9 former students, and 85 JJC graduate employers. Formulated databases and documents of analyzed data. Prepared the report for printing and distribution to school officials.

Summer 2001 Research Intern, Pioneer Hi-Bred Adair, IL.

Assisted in field maintenance, thinning, and yield counts at 10 locations in central Illinois. Obtained data on silk and shed traits for over 10,000 corn plots. Collected and recorded pollen shed traits from 370 plots. Pollinated over 80,000 corn plants by numerous methods with pollinating crews and assisted in supervising young pollinators. Collected data on plant and ear height as well as root lodging, stalk lodging, and barren ears in 4500 corn plots.

                    1997-2000 Sales Associate/Key Holder, Old Navy Clothing Company Rockford, IL.

Assisted customers on the sales floor. Responsible for merchandise returns and sales totaling over 1 million dollars in peak months. Planned merchandise placement for shipments over 500 units. Supervised shipment groups of 5 associates. Trained new employees on the sales floor and cash register. Promoted 4 times within 4 years for excellent customer service and dedication.
