National Broadcasting Society AERho
The National Broadcasting Society goes beyond the classroom to prepare college students and entry-level professionals for careers in the electronic media. This mission is accomplished through six areas of focus.
The National Broadcasting Society - Alpha Epsilon Rho, is a student and professional society of over eighty-five chapters on college, university, community college and high school campuses.
Through the years, NBS-AERho has had as its purpose the goal of encouraging and rewarding scholarship and accomplishment among students of broadcasting, to establish meaningful communication between student and professional broadcasters and to foster integrity in the use of the powerful instruments of radio, television, film, cable and its many associated businesses and industries.
The National Broadcasting Society - Alpha Epsilon Rho... a reflection of the diverse and complex industry it serves... changing, developing, expanding.
The purpose of the National Broadcasting Society is to help collegiate electronic media students make the transition to the professional world. NBS and AERho enhance the development of students and early professionals on a chapter, district, regional and national level by:
- Promoting excellence.
- Providing opportunities for ethical and responsible leadership.
- Providing exposure to the "electronic media" industries.
- Assisting in career preparation.
- Providing opportunities for and encouraging the development of members through advanced media education programs.
- Providing opportunities for and encouraging the participation of members in community service projects and activities.
