Introduction to JMP Statistical Discovery Software for Data Analysis and Visualization
Date: Thursday, February 27th, 2014
Time: 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Location: Malpass Library, Room 180
Instructor(s): Anna Valeva

Description: The JMP statistical discovery software is primarily used in medical, engineering, and consumer research fields. Despite its focus on these fields, JMP offers variety of features that set it apart from many other statistics programs that are commonly used in the social, behavioral, and other sciences, such as SPSS or SAS. JMP integrates smoothly with more basic data analysis programs, such as Excel, as well as more advanced programs such SAS and MATLAB. JMP’s emphasis on simultaneously combining data analysis and data presentation through intuitive and interactive graphs and tables makes it an excellent teaching tool for students as well.

This workshop will showcase the JMP software system, its key features, and demonstrate how it can be used for both basic and advanced data analyses, as well as a resource for student researchers.
