Description: We will discuss our pilot program of pairing Freshman Composition (English 180) with American Government and Politics (Political Science 122Y). Highlighting strategies we used to pair composition and political science content, we'll reflect on team teaching, the struggles and rewards of our paired course, as well as ways you can incorporate strategies we used in your own classroom, with a particular focus on how we designed writing projects to engage students in content area learning. Finally, we'll discuss ways to pair your lower division courses with composition courses.
