Description: Have you a need to integrate three-dimensional modeling into your research and classroom experiences but do not have the time to learn a complicated software program, the financial resources to purchase high-end programs, or even the need to do complex modeling? If so, then perhaps SketchUp is the solution for you. SketchUp is a 3D modeling program available as freeware that enables the creation of a wide range of objects for both display and 3D printing. This session is designed for persons with little or no SketchUp experience who want to investigate the best methods for getting started using SketchUp. Topics covered will include the user interface, simple hands-on 3D model construction and exporting for integration with Word, PowerPoint or other software programs.
