Description: “Hot moments” occur during class discussions when a student says something offensive, insensitive, thoughtless, or unexpectedly controversial. These are difficult moments for teachers and students. Professors have the responsibility to defuse these moments and use them as an opportunity to help students learn in and from them. This workshop will provide participants with conflict resolution strategies to defuse hot moments in the classroom.
