6th grade students, their
teacher, Ms. Mary McMahon,
and teacher assistant, Mrs.
April Favorit,
participated in a research
project with Dr. Mary Jensen during the Fall semester 2006.
The project called “Using
Technology to Enhance the
Social Skills Curriculum” had the sixth grade students identify a new target
behavior skill that would help
them achieve at higher levels
at school. They learned a self instructional
strategy which is a step-by-step plan to help them remember to do their

Interactive DVD
During the summer semester 2007, Dr. Barry Witten (C&I) designed and distributed From Jamestown to Gettysburg: Illinois Educators’ Journey. This interactive DVD, designed using the Adobe Flash authoring system, is a resource unit that encompasses a variety of tools, resources and activities to explore the region surrounding our nation’s capitol. This resource includes a series of primary sources, maps, teacher and student oriented web sites, assessment activities and special needs adaptations for diverse learners. Read more...
