The four-color offset press recently purchased by Document and Publication Services represents a significant leap forward in our printing capabilities. The press produces a much higher quality product than the existing printing machines at DPS, and is generally used for higher volume printing runs, typically of 500 copies or more.
Because the press is housed in the DPS building at the north end of the WIU Macomb campus and is the only 4-color press within 50 miles, turnaround time for certain products has been greatly reduced. Also, due to not having to ship orders to an outside printer, there have been shipping cost savings for both DPS and our customers.
The new four-color offset press uses 4 colors (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) of soy-based ink. It can print up to 11,000 prints per hour up to 13x19 inch print sizes. For more information, you can email Document and Publication Services at DPS@wiu.edu, or call us at 309-298-1917.
