Scholarships
American Association of School Administrators (AASA) Scholarships
Six Graduate Student Scholarships are available in the amount of $2,000 each for outstanding graduate students who intend to pursue the public school superintendency as a career.
Applications are available annually online beginning May 1 or from chairs of educational administration departments at universities that have such a program. Only one candidate may be submitted by each university, and they must be recommended by a dean and at least one faculty member, with supporting statements. Ranger Scholarship for Educational Leadership Students
John D. and Mary Denise Ranger have graciously established a $1,000 scholarship for graduate students in the Department of Educational Leadership.The scholarship will be applied to the student’s tuition account ($500 spring and $500 fall). Financial need is not a consideration.
To compete for this scholarship, you:
- must have completed 16 hours in the program by April 1
- must have earned at least a 3.0 grade point average in your graduate work
- are required to document their community and/or university activities and their accomplishments and awards and provide supporting evidence
- must submit a three letters of support from students, parents, supervisors, colleagues, etc.
- should download Ranger Scholarship Application (PDF) and the Essay Rubric (PDF) that will be used in scoring.
School Business Management Scholarship for Members of Illinois Association of School Business Officials
Applications are available to Illinois ASBO members in good standing who:
- are Illinois residents;
- are admitted and actively pursuing a bachelor's degree, master's degree, or CSBO certification in an accredited program with a major emphasis on school business management curriculum except at the undergraduate level;
- demonstrate the ability, background and interest to successfully complete the program. Members of the scholarship committee, Board of Directors, Officers, staff, and/or members of their immediate families shall not be eligible.
