I am interested in becoming a peer mentor, how can I get involved?

Faculty members, department chairs, and advisors are encouraged to nominate students to serve as peer mentors. Ask a faculty member or contact the department if you are interested.

What kind of training and resources are available for peer mentors?

Peer mentors will receive training in the skills and knowledge needed to perform their jobs at a training session held at the beginning of each semester. A training manual is another valuable resource.

What are the benefits of being a peer mentor?

Benefits include: working one-on-one with a faculty member, developing valuable leadership skills, serving as a positive influence for first year students, and receiving a modest stipend.
