The main objective of the Illlinois Emergency Services Management Assocation (IESMA) is "to establish a medium for effecting liaison between public safety, industrial, commercial and educational organizations and emergency management agencies" (IESMA, 2007).
Furthermore, the objectives of the IESMA-WIU Chapter are to promote interest in the emergency management field, provide fellowship among students and faculty, represent students regard to emergency management, and provide a forum for the presentation of innovation ideas to benefit the university and community.
IESMA-WIU Chapter membership is open to majors and minors in Emergency Management, as well as those persons interested in emergency management. We participate in many activities that benefit both the college campus and the surrounding community. We also provide opportunities for members to increase their knowledge and skills related to new developments and principles relating to emergency management.
