Willis & Rosemary Zorn Scholarship
The purpose of the Willis & Rosemary Zorn Scholarship is to encourage good students who are committed to educating themsleves, have been of service to people and organizations, and have financial need.
Eligibility:
-
Undergraduate majors who have completed fifteen (15) or more total hours at
WIU and nine (9) or more hours in departmental courses, and -
Must have a record of service to people and organizations, and
-
Demonstrate financial need and commitment to self education.
Award:
- $500 cash
- A personal plaque
given to each recipient in recognition of this achievement
- A permanent departmental
plaque recording the recipient's name and year of
presentation

W.I. Taylor Memorial Scholarship
The purpose of the W.I. Taylor Memorial Scholarship is to promote scholarship and professional development among majors and minors in the Department of Health Sciences.
Eligibility:
- All undergraduate
Health Sciences majors and minors are eligible
- Previous recipients are ineligible
Award:
- A $200 cash award
to each recipient
- A personal plaque
given to each recipient in recognition of this achievement

V.F. Lowell Award for Undergraduate Professionalism in Health Sciences
The purpose of the V. F. Lowell Award it to promote the development of undergraduate professionalism by recognizing those students who have made outstanding contributions to the department, university, and their chosen profession.
Eligibility:
- Must be a major
in the Department of Health Sciences
- Must have a minimum
of 30 semester hours at WIU
- Previous recipients are eligible to apply

John H. and Mary M. Leach Scholarship
The Drs. John H. and Mary M. Leach Scholarship was established by department alumni, faculty, and friends in recognition of Dr. Mary M Leach's contributions to the students and professional community. This scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshman during even years in the Department of Dietetics, Fashion Merchandising, and Hospitality and in odd years in the Department of Health Sciences.
Eligibility:
- Earned cumulative
grade point average of 3.00 or higher
- ACT score of 24 or higher or be in the upper 10% of his/her class

Dennis "Dan" F. Sigwart Viet Nam Descendent Scholarship
The Dennis "Dan" F. Sigwart Viet Nam Descendent Scholarship was established by Dr. Dennis F. Sigwart, professor emeritus of the Department of Health Sciences, in October 2004. The scholarship fund was created for the purpose of providing textbook awards to descendents of Viet Nam war veterans/participants attending Western Illinois University.
Eligibility:
- Any spouse,
son, daughter, grandchild, great gradnchild, niece, nephew, great
neice, or great nephew of a Veit Nam veteran/participant and hold
sophomore rank and above with a cumulative grade point average
(GPA) of 2.5 or higher. Preference will be given to students enrolled
in the College of Education and Human Services and the Department
of Health Sciences.
- The Viet Nam veteran/participant
must have served at least six months in Viet Nam, hold the Viet
Nam Campaign Ribbon, and was honorably discharged from the United
States military service.
- A copy of the
service member's DD 214 Form (discharge) must accompany the application.
- Priority for the award will be as follows: descendent of those killed in action, former prisoners of war, and those wounded/disabled in the war.
Award:
- $600 per year/$300 per semester
