MSG Carcamo completed Basic and advanced individual training in 1974 as an Infantry soldier, he has held every leadership position from Team leader to First Sergeant.
MSG Carcamo assignments include, tour with 1/ 12 INF, 3/5 INF, 1st BN 187 INF (Rakkasans), Drill SGT at FT Jackson SC, 1/61 INF, Northern Warfare School, 3/6 INF, 1/41 INF, Presidio of San Francisco CA, Fort Lewis WA with Fifth Army as Senior NCOIC . MSG Carcamo retired in 1997 and accepted a civilian job as ROTC instructor with WIU.
MSG Carcamo’s personal and unit decorations include the Valorous Unit Award, Meritorious Commendation, Vietnam Presidential Unit Citation, Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, The Army Commendation Medal with Valor, The Army Commendation Medal, The Army Achievement Medal, The Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Non Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal He is also Air Assault qualified.
MSG Carcamo is married he and his wife Vilma has four daughter.
