Summer Youth Programs
A History of High Quality Academic Enrichment
For over 30 years, Non-Credit Programs has provided innovative academic programs for youth in an on-campus residential setting during the summer. All programs are instructed by Western Illinois University faculty and other professionals who share a commitment to helping each student to further his or her potential. During their stay at Western, students also enjoy a program of safe and fun recreational activities and are supervised by a staff of carefully-selected resident counselors.
- Art for Gifted and Talented Students - Grades 4-6
June 14, 2009 - June 19, 2009
- This program offers classes in airbrush, drawing, painting, computer art, and three-dimensional expression for the motivated art student. A program of supervised recreational activities such as swimming and bowling are also included.

June 21, 2009 - June 26, 2009
- This program offers classes in airbrush, drawing, painting, computer art, and three-dimensional expression for the gifted and motivated art student. The program also includes swimming, bowling, and other supervised recreational activities.

July 12, 2009 - July 18, 2009
- This program explores all aspects of film production. Students are able to write original scripts, direct, act, edit, and view the final cut of their film at the conclusion of the program. Program participants will receive a copy of their films.

July 19, 2009 - July 24, 2009
- This program provides a supportive, cooperative environment for girls to study math. It encourages girls to study math and science as well as explore and consider mathematics-related careers. The program features a hands-on approach to math study, including creative projects, group activities, and problem-solving. Each participant builds a webpage using what she has learned during the week. Supervised recreational activities are included as part of the program.
