Early Intervention Provider Payment Update Effective 07/16/14

The Early Intervention Bureau has secured funds to approve the following vouchers for payment.

06/11/14: Approved today to go to IOC so should be showing within the next few business days.

06/18/14, 06/25/14: Approval process started within DHS, so watch the DHS and IOC websites for status. These payments will be processed along with other DHS State Fiscal Year 2014 (SFY14) requests, so payments may take longer than a few days. Hopefully, they will be showing sometime next week on the DHS/IOC websites.

Each year the EI program looks at the Dates of Service on Claims and separates weekly vouchers processed in the new fiscal year into two files of the previous and the current fiscal year. We must follow State policy and procedures on using funds appropriately so as long as there is SFY14 funds available, we must pay SFY14 dates of service before SFY15 dates of service. For this reason it is important that you watch your Provider Claim Summaries for the first few weeks of the new SFY to understand which vouchers will be processed first. For SFY14, Invoice numbers beginning with S are SFY14 and Invoice numbers beginning with T are SFY15.

Because we have now received the final SFY14 State funds, we are also approving the SFY14 portion of the following vouchers.

07/02/14: Invoice numbers beginning with S 07/09/14: Invoice numbers beginning with S

The final balance of SFY14 funds must be used to finish SFY14 dates of service, until we stop splitting the weekly vouchers, and the Early Intervention Administrative Contract payments within the next 3 weeks.

Early Intervention is continually working to secure additional revenues in order to process payments. We are not always aware of when these funds may be released to the Early Intervention 502 Revolving Fund. We also must have the funds secured into the DHS accounting systems before payments can be made. IOC is only the first step in the process. While we understand the impact any delay has on every aspect of the Early Intervention Services System, we are not able to change the way the state process works. Early Intervention receives funding from multiple sources and every effort is made to reduce the impact of the lack of state funds available by utilizing every other source. As funds become available, payments will be made. Thank you for your support and continued patience.

Thank You!
