WIU Psychology Department Research

Research is essential to the study and practice of psychology. Psychology is a social science, and as such relies on carefully prepared and executed studies and experiments to understand the world around us and build our base of psychological knowledge. Psychology research can take many forms, including survey research, online studies, naturalistic observation, animal models, and physiological research. In the WIU Psychology Department, research is conducted over numerous topics, including health psychology, social psychology, behavior analysis, drugs and disease, audiology, clinical psychology, sexual relationships, interpersonal relationships, and cognition and emotion.
