Transcripts and Diplomas

Transcripts

There is no fee for transcripts ordered through STARS or the Office of the Registrar. Upon written request of the student, the Office of the Registrar issues a transcript of a student's record. Transcripts are not issued for persons under financial obligation to Western Illinois University. Western Illinois University follows the condition set forth in the General Education Provisions Act of 1974 (as amended 1976).

There are several ways for you to request a copy of your transcript:

• Order a transcript online through STARS (sign on and select Transcript Request), or
  
  Students enrolled prior to Fall 1983 may not be able to request a transcript through STARS on the Web. Please use one of the options listed below.
  
  
• Print and return our online Transcript Request Form, or
  
  
• Write a letter and include the following:
  
  Name (present and all previous)
  Social Security Number or Student ID
  Date of birth
  Last year attended at WIU
  Where to send transcript (name and address)
  Signature
  
  
• Western Illinois University has retained Credentials Inc. to accept transcript orders over the Internet. There is a handling charge for each order.
  
  • Order a Transcript ($2.25 handling charge)
  • Check the Status of your Order

Diplomas

Students completing graduation requirements will be issued a diploma approximately six weeks after graduation. There are two ways to request a duplicate diploma:

• Order a duplicate diploma online ($27 credit card payment required), or



• Send a written request and include the following ($25 check or money order required):
  
  
  • Your name typed or printed EXACTLY as you want it to appear on your diploma
  • Your student identification number or social security number
  • The degree you earned
  • The approximate date or term your degree was granted
  • A complete address of where your diploma should be mailed
  • A check or money order for $25 made payable to WIU

Please note that duplicate diplomas will not be available to students who have encumbrances with the University. All outstanding monetary obligations to the University must be cleared before the diploma will be issued.
