has six general areas of responsibility:

(1) Liaison with and monitoring of governmental agencies.

(2) Information clearinghouse regarding funding opportunities
     and awards administration.

(3) Coordination of the preparation, clearance, review, and submission of proposals.

(4) Post-award administration.

(5) Oversight of federal regulations and assurance of compliance by WIU
     investigators.

(6) Administration of the University Research Council Faculty Grants.
