Technology Offices and Support
Seven offices across the university are responsible for providing technology leadership and support.
- UCSS responsible for the overall administration and coordination of instructional computing resources and activities at Western Illinois University.

- ESS is responsible for technology planning, web and applications development, and network operations for the Division of Student Services.
- ESS is likely your first point of contact for departments housed in the Division of Student Services. Specifically, contact ESS if you have questions about Campus ID cards and card reader systems, student services departmental support, and more.
- Telecommunications provides faculty and staff with the highest quality in Telecommunication Services available.
- Telecommunications is likely your first point of contact for help with campus phones. Specifically, contact Telecommunications if your have questions about your campus phone, setting up a conference call, and more.
- UIMS is responsible for providing accurate, timely, and complete information to all qualified users in the most usable and appropriate form.
- UIMS is likely your first point of contact for any information housed in universitywide computing resources. Specifically, contact UIMS if you have questions about STARS where students can register for classes, check grades, etc. and MVS where faculty and staff can fill out time cards, etc.
- CAIT provides practical solutions to online information technology needs in the design, development, deployment and support of custom instructional online learning systems, and it provides applications for educational entities, businesses, public agencies and not-for-profit organizations.
- CITR provides the university community with opportunities and resources for their professional and personal enrichment. Programming is offered in enrichment of the teaching-learning process, understanding and assessing student learning, and enhancing the effective use of technology in teaching.
- University Relations is responsible for maintaining and updating the Western Illinois University Web site.
