User Support Services provides technology support to the students, faculty and staff at WIU. User Support Services is comprised of four work groups each with a specific technology support mission.

Support Center
The Support Center is located in Stipes 126. The Support Center provides phone-based support for WIU students, faculty, and staff. Support Center staff assist with connection or network issues, login and password problems, hardware and supported software questions, questions about WIU’s Zimbra email system, and WIU’s distance learning platform – Western Online.

Classroom Support Services
Classroom Support Services was created to address the diverse need for classroom equipment and technology support at Western Illinois University. Classroom Support Services offers a full range of audio and video expertise, and works with campus entities to enhance classrooms with new technologies to facilitate teaching and learning.

Desktop and Hardware Services
Desktop and Hardware Services performs the installation and maintenance of PC and Mac desktop computers and printers on campus, including, but not limited to software, and network connections from your computer to the wall; provides consultation and assistance in computer-related purchases for the campus; and assists in the support and setup of Windows Mobile devices.

Web Services
Web Services, as part of University Technology, coordinates maintenance of content on the wiu.edu domain pages, and serves as the principle leader in advancing Western Illinois University’s web presence. In addition, Web Services develops website applications, coordinates with other campus web personnel, assists in setting web-related policy, and provides web support as needed.
