In addition to having oversight responsibility for departments in the Administrative Services division, the Office of the Vice President administers the following programs:

Insurance
All aspects of the University's insurance program is coordinated through this office. WIU is a member of SURMA (State University Risk Management Association) which is a self-insured liability fund, providing liability insurance coverage to five state universities in Illinois. Property insurance coverage, as well as excess liability, boiler and machinery, contingent auto, comprehensive crime and other miscellaneous coverages are provided through IPHEC (Illinois Public Higher Education Consortium) for all universities in the State of Illinois.
Legal Support
Legal assistance for the University is coordinated through Administrative Services. A representative from Flack, McRaven & Stephens is available for appointments one day a week, scheduled through the Office of the Vice President for Administrative Services.
