Religious Studies
The program and curricular composition of the WIU religious studies
major was developed to offer a combination of breadth in covering a
range of religious traditions and methodological approaches, while also
expecting some depth of focus in student-selected areas.
The WIU major is designed to familiarize students with a diverse range of religions.
Why Choose Religious Studies at WIU?
In REL 490 (Capstone Project), students engage in an independent
scholarly or research project that will prepare them for future graduate
work.
Students are given the opportunity to study a foreign language and/or engage in a study abroad program that features the study of religion
