Program: Dietetics

Program Overview

WIU's Dietetics major is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education of the American Dietetics Association. Students of the program are granted verification of completion which makes them eligible for application to an accredited dietetics internship then to sit for the national registry exam and receive the Registered Dietitian credential.

Students who complete the Dietetics program are prepared to work in three areas of dietetics practice: clinical nutrition, food service systems management, and community nutrition. Typical settings include hospitals, long-term care facilities, private practices, schools, or government agencies.
