WIU License Plates

Show your Western pride and benefit our scholarship program at the same time by ordering WIU Collegiate License Plates. These plates can be issued to any Illinois resident for passenger cars as well as B-trucks.

Personalized WIU specialty license plate ***NEW***
Illinois motorists can now order vanity and personalized Western Illinois University specialty license plates. Those license plates were previously only available with numeric characters, but now they are available in letter or letter and number combinations.

Twenty five dollars of your collegiate license plate fee is returned to Western Illinois University for student scholarships and is tax deductible. Apply online for your WIU Alumni License Plate.

First-time issuance - $118
($78 Registration fee + $40 Collegiate Plate fee)
Current plates expire within 90 days - $147
($78 registration fee + $40 Collegiate Plate fee + $29 replacement fee)
Current plates do not expire within 90 days - $69
($40 Collegiate Plate fee + $29 replacement fee)
Annual renewal - $105
($78 registration fee + $27 Collegiate Plate fee)
