Advice for Freshman: Don't be afraid to get involved! I have learned so much from the different organizations I have been involved in and met many great friends as well. It can be hard to go out of your comfort zone, especially being the new kid in town, but it is worth it! I was surprised to find how helpful and accepting the professors, advisers and other students are at WIU, so never be afraid to approach people or ask questions.

Favorite WIU Memory: I have made some great friends here at Western and we try to meet once a week to have a big dinner. It is great to make time out of the week to relax with good friends and catch up with each other.

Family Information: I am the middle child with an older half sister and a younger brother. My sister, Becky, is a graduate of St. Ambrose University and now works as a physical therapist in the Quad Cities. My younger brother is a student at Illinois Central College. My dad recently retired as a Peoria Police Officer after thirty five years and now coaches hockey to younger kids. My mom works as a receptionist at a doctor's office and has been in the medical field for many years. And the most interesting members of the family would be my Arabian horse, Star, and our Great Dane, Harley.
