Advice for Freshman: Get involved and look for ways to apply your classroom learning. WIU offers so many great opportunities and your 4 years will go by so fast. Don't wait for things to happen...make things happen! Find a mentor, find multiple mentors who can help you make important connections to the campus and who will challenge you to realize your fullest potential! Get to know as many people as you can including faculty, staff, administrators, and fellow students. Most people attribute their successes to opportunities that they have become aware of from their network of contacts! Have fun and learn a lot.

Favorite WIU Memory: There are so many, but I think my greatest memory are of the mentor relationships I developed with two staff members - Jim Miner & Cathy Onion both significantly impacted my growth as a student and campus leader and influenced me to consider graduate school and a career in higher education.

Family Information: I am married to Mark who works in management at State Farm Insurance Co. I have two girls, Karalyn and Kassandra. I am actively involved in the life of my church as a Sunday School teacher, oversee a mid-week Ministry Program, serve as a Deacon and am co-chair of stewardship. At the college where I work I also serve as the advisor to the Dance Team. In my free time, I enjoy reading, watching movies and family vacations.
