New Year's Resolutions for COEHS Alumni

Ring in the New Year with 10 resolutions you can offer your alma mater. In reflection of your time at WIU and the past year, quite often, the smallest gifts take the least time and effort. We offer you a few suggestions for resolutions that collectively, can make a big impact on WIU and the WIU College of Education and Human Services.

  1. Keep your information up-to-date with the WIU Alumni Association. We can’t brag about you if we can’t find you!

  2. Stay current with COEHS news about faculty and students by visiting our blog, COEHS Cohesion.

  3. Share what you know with others: fan us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter. Interact with us! Comment on posts and share our news with your friends.

  4. Help recruit prospective students. Someone pointed you in the right direction, return the favor! Encourage campus visits.

  5. Return for Homecoming on September 24-25, 2010.  Reconnect with former faculty and friends and take a walk around campus. You might be surprised how much we’ve changed!

  6. Participate in COEHS Week, April 19-23, 2010. There will be a variety of panels and speakers, a technology day, and recognition of the COEHS distinguished alum. We welcome you to consider coming to campus to present – we want to share your knowledge and experiences with our current students.

  7. Attend WIU alumni events and Leatherneck sports. The Alumni & Friends events are held all over the United States and are great networking and socializing opportunities. You might even see an old classmate or faculty member.

  8. Hire WIU graduates or help them with internships. Become part of the excitement in helping educate and grow agents of change in your respective discipline.

  9. Stay involved with your department. Visit the website, send an email to a professor, serve on a committee or speak in a class.

  10. Make a gift. Annual support from alumni allows the College and departments to pursue new and unanticipated opportunities. Each dollar you give allows us to support student organizations, bring in speakers and fund service opportunities.
