Third Annual Department Organizations and Majors Fair

The University Union Heritage Room recently hosted over 100 college and high school students who visited with nearly 40 student organizations at the Third Annual Department Organizations and Majors Fair on Wednesday, March 31. The event was sponsored by the Student Honors Association, which initiated the event three years ago to help provide information to both high school students and undeclared WIU students.

“The unique thing about this fair is the peer-to-peer contact,” said James Ruppert, SHA President. “We wanted students to get information from other students rather than faculty or staff about the various majors and the student organizations within each department.” Thus, the fair is tailored for students to discover what each major offers and its opportunities for extracurricular departmental involvement.

SHA thanks all the participating organizations, student representatives, and visitors who took part in this year’s event. We look forward to helping students discover more majors next year!
