STARS Password Change Information
Due to recent changes in the University's password policy, WIU's Student/Alumni Records System (STARS) has been updated to use eight-character passwords instead of four-digit pins. STARS provides Alumni, students and employees with access to their University records.
Through STARS, Alumni may also access our Online Directory, an exciting, interactive community exclusively for WIU graduates to help reconnect with former friends and classmates. The directory includes Alumni, some attendees, honorary doctorate recipients and certificate holders with the exception of Alumni who have requested that the University not release their information. Click here for more information about the Alumni Directory.
When you attempt to login, you will be notified your PIN has expired and you will then need to create a new password. The passwords must be eight characters long and must contain at least one letter and one number.
Access is available from 6:00 a.m. to midnight (Central Time), seven days a week and is based on your nine-digit Western identification number (WIU ID) and your eight-character password. You will also be required to have two personal identification questions and answers on file which may be used to verify your identity if you forget your password. A WIU ID number is given to students when they begin at Western and remains the same after they graduate. If you do not know your WIU ID number and wish to obtain it, call 309-298-1914.
