Greathouse interim chair of DFMH

Karen Greathouse photoThe dietetics, fashion merchandising and hospitality (DFMH) department has a new interim chair. Karen Greathouse—who started at Western in 1989 as an assistant professor and was promoted to professor in 2004—assumed the interim chair position July 15. Former DFMH chair Erskine Smith was recently named interim associate dean of the College.

Greathouse received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in food and nutrition from Southern Illinois University, and she earned her doctorate in institutional management from Kansas State University.
