Discover Russia: July 25 - August 5

Join the WIU Alumni Association and WIU agriculture professor John Carlson on this journey to Moscow, Ryazan and St. Petersburg to see all that Russia has to offer.

Begin with a look at local culture in and around Moscow as you visit Sergeiv Posad, center of the Russian Orthodox Church; Red Square; the Kremlin; Christ the Savior Cathedral; and Lenin's Mausoleum. Then it's off to Ryazan to experience life outside the metro areas and learn about Russian agriculture. Take the overnight train to one of the most beautiful cities in Russia, St. Petersburg. Tour the Fortress of Peter and Paul; the Cathedral of Spilled Blood; the Hermitage Museum and take a boat ride along the many canals. Finally, experience Peterhof, the summer residence of Peter the Great, and a visit to Russian Standard vodka distillery on your last day.
