News from Your Alumni Association
It truly is a great time to be at Western. Our May Commencement marked a momentous occasion as we re
cognized our 100,000th member to the WIU Alumni Association. Graduation is always a wonderful time of year as we see our students move into a new phase of their lives–becoming members of the Alumni Association and joining you as permanent trustees of this institution.
As we welcome our newest members from the class of 2007, we also want to reacquaint ourselves with those of you who have gone before them. If you have joined us at one of our many Alumni and Friends events around the world in the past, I thank you. For those of you who have yet to join us, I look forward to seeing you at one soon.
Feel free to meet us for a Wrigleyville rooftop event in August as we enjoy visiting with you and other WIU alumni and watch a Cubs vs. Cardinals game.
Join us in September as your Fighting Leathernecks take on the University of Illinois.
Don't forget, Homecoming is just around the corner. I hope you'll consider a trip to Macomb Sept. 28-29 as we celebrate with our alumni, friends, faculty, and staff at “The Right Place.”
Finally, this summer we will embark on a strategic planning process for your Alumni Association, to coincide with the University's strategic plan, Higher Values in Higher Education. We look forward to input from our many alumni and friends.
We want your input on ways we can make your experience with your alma mater the best it can be, so please feel free to contact us with event ideas or to update us on what is happening in your life!
