6th assignment : Cover (DVD, CD or Video) Design

Create the case for a DVD, CD, CD-Rom or Video. This is for an actual or imaginary movie, recording or game.

Include all relevant information and logos in your design. This may include:

Formats (increase the template resolution to 150 - 300 pixels/inch before you used them. They are currently only 72 pixels.inch):

  inside page 4.875 x 7.25"
  label: template 4.56" diameter with 1.625" center (disk: 4.72" diameter)
     
Jewel CD case cover/booklet 4.72 x 4.72" (booklet: 4.72 x 9.44" layout)
  back 5.94 x 4.625" (including two .25" ends)
  label: template 4.56" diameter with 1.625" center (disk: 4.72" diameter)
     
Video case full-size case 11 x 8-1/2" template, Illustrator template
     
     

Written portion - For the written portion of this assignment, you will need to write:

  1. What the unifying design elements and principles of the case and label. Discuss at least four elements and principles.
  2. In one sentence, define the key message of the front cover that you need communication
  3. Define the target audience (who is this product direct to?)
  4. What font(s) did you select. Discuss your selection(s)
