Useful InDesign keyboard shortcuts

Selection tool (V) -selects text and graphics frames; works with an object using its bounding box.

Direct Selection tool (A) -selects the contents of a frame (placed graphic); or works directly with editable objects (paths, rectangles, or type converted to a text outline).
