Bruce Walters -Gallop
"Gallop", animated loop, 2007

."Gallop" is based on ten images from a series of 24 photos taken by Eadweard Muybridge in 1878. The source images were painted on panel, photographed and then edited with Adobe Photoshop. Adobe ImageReady was used to create the animation. ( Working in partnership with Ray Malone, a soundtrack was added. Though it is not included here, it can be heard with the video on YouTube.com.)

"In the Time of War. America, 2006", digital painting

 More than 27,000 American soldiers have been killed or wounded during the past few years in Iraq, yet the daily lives of most Americans seem unaffected by this war. I’ve tried to touch on this disconnect in this digital drawing. This image is loosely based on a photo I took in the middle of a very hot day at the Mississippi Valley Fair. By changing the setting to night and separating the small groups in the foreground, I tried to convey a sense of the fear that has been fostered in this time. I also developed symbolic elements -such the red and blue striped tents or the hint of a crescent that makes up a portion of the Ferris wheel.
