William Howard: Recent Prints
Monday, January 14 - Thursday, February 7, 2002
This
invitational presents recent intaglio prints created by WIU assistant
professor of art, William Howard. In this body of work, William
Howard explores the diverse population found in rural Illinois
through figurative images presenting a "sampling" of
the population of small towns in the area. His unique approach
to portraying the figure ranges from life-size etchings to multiple
series to very small scale prints. Howard received his B.S. degree
in Landscape Architecture and his B.A. and M.F.A. degrees in printmaking
from Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado. His work
has been included in group exhibitions and competitions throughout
the United States, and in England, Scotland and Wales.
This
exhibition is supported by a WIU Foundation Summer Stipend Award
and co-sponored by the Department of Art and the College of Fine
Arts and Communication.
