“Elephant” clay, metal, rubber

This exhibition presents recent works in ceramics and mixed media by Chicago artist Dana Shearin. Dana was a Visiting Artist in the ceramics and sculpture studios at the Western Illinois University Department of Art during the Spring semester, 2003 and Fall semester 2004. In Shearin's art sensory experience of the processes of making art and its eventual physical decay is paramount, the result of a process-oriented and material-based approach to the art.
