This exhibition features recent mixed-media works by WIU
assistant professor of art Tim Waldrop. Each work is an
exploration of the universal concept of "family."
Topics such as social conditions, marriage, health issues,
and family traditions are presented within the body of work.
A juxtaposition of like and unlike imagery creates a result
quite similar to that of a collage. Different times, different
places, different people, but still connected through the
random placement of familiar images.
Waldrop
received his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from William Carey
College in Gulfport, Mississippi and his Master of Fine
Arts Degree from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville,
Illinois. His work has been included in group exhibitions
and competitions throughout the United States.
This exhibition is supported by a WIU Foundation
Summer Stipend Award and co-sponsored by the Department
of Art and the College of Fine Arts and Communication.
