A panel discussion with several nationally known political cartoonists led by Bill Knight, Professor of Journalism, Department of English and Journalism at Western Illinois University.
The panelists include:
Jeff Koterba, political cartoonist for the Omaha World Herald. His cartoons are also distributed by King Features.
Glenn McCoy, political cartoonist for the Belleville News Democrat. Also does the Duplex comic strip and Flying McCoys comic panel. Duplex and The Flying McCoys are syndicated by Universal Press.
Gary McCoy, political cartoonist for the St. Louis Suburban Journals and Copley and does The Flying McCoys with his brother Glenn. The Flying McCoys is syndicated by Universal Press.
R.J. Matson, is the political cartoonist for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Roll Call, and The New Yorker.
Tom Engelhardt was a political cartoonist for the St Louis Post-Dispatch.

This portion of the exhibit presents a historical overview of political and social cartoons in the United States, organized by former WIU Department of Art faculty member and syndicated cartoonist Jim Allen. Drawing from national and regional public and private collections, as well as examples from the Western Illinois University Art Gallery Permanent Collection, the exhibit shows media ranging from early drawings, woodcuts and wood engravings to new media including the animated political cartoons of Mark Fiori and Jib Jab.
