This exhibition presents examples of visual art that have been used for healing by various cultures from around the world.   Included in the exhibition are African, Indonesian, Mexican, and Native American masks; Hopi Indian dolls, religious icons; Tibetan healing mandalas; and more.  These are all art forms created and used for healing in rituals, through meditation, or possessing other symbolic attributes conducive to improving physical, emotional, or spiritual health.  The artworks are on loan from public and private collections.  Also included are more contemporary wall mandalas and floor installation labyrinths by regional artist Kelley Quinn.

This exhibition is held in conjunction with and in support of Western Illinois University’s 2008-2009 Campus Theme: “Global Challenges, Personal Responsibility and Health and Wellness.” Kelley Quinn is supported in part by the Illinois Arts Council’s Arts-In-Education Program.
