Cable Monument by Paul De Vigne 1891

In 1891, this Victorian bronze monument was purchased by Ben Cable while in France. It was designed and sculpted by Paul De Vigne. Cast in Brussels, it has since stood in the Cable family plot in Chippiannock Cemetery. To give a sense of its scale, the grieving woman standing beneath the sarcophagus is slightly larger than life-size.
