"Rhythm," by Gene Horvath is made of stainless steel. It is a graceful work that evolves a sense of fluid motion. Measuring 78 x 44 x 43," it is the most human-scaled work in the sculpture garden at the entrance to the Davenport Museum of Art.

Gene Horvath maintained his studio in Rockford, IL. He did not seriously begin to pursue a career in the fine arts until 1972, when he conducted extensive experiments in vacuum forming, metalizing, and epoxy skin-formed structures. He focused his attention on torqued forms with cohesive attraction between concave and convex shapes.

Horvath has other significant work in the Quad Cities, including: "Invitation", a 25' high aluminum sculpture in downtown Rock Island, and "Meeting Place", on the Augustana College campus.
