"Neon" is installed on the ceiling of the Transit Center. It is 132 ft. and 36 ft. Born in Greece in 1926, Stephen Antonakos imigrated to New York when was four. He has taught painting at several institutions, including the Brooklyn Museum of Art. During the 40s and 50s, he created collages and assembled objects. He began working primarily with neon as an art medium in the early 1960s.
