This bronze figure marks the grave of Robert Alexander, a Marine fighter pilot, who died on September 30, 1943. Alexander flew with famed Col. Gregory "Pappy" Boyington and his Black Sheep Squadron in the Pacific Theater. The memorial was dedicated on July 9, 1947.
