This copper sheet sculpture was designed as part of the 150th anniversary of St. Anthony's Church. The base which supports the sculpture houses the original bell from the church (built in 1837, at the inception of the city of Davenport). In its early days, the bell was also used as a fire alarm.

The two artists, Marihart and Opgenorth, work out of Ivy Ridge Studio in Bellevue, Iowa which they started in 1970. Previously, they attended and taught at Marycrest College. They both earned their MFA degrees at the Uniiversity of Notre Dame.
