Graduate Students
David Drower
David Drower is a performing saxophonist and teacher. He grew up in an area with strong high school music programs. In 2005, he started his bachelors' degree in Music Education at Vander Cook College of Music in Chicago. While during his tenure there, he taught private lessons in the area of saxophone, clarinet, flute, improvisation, theory, and doubling. He also played in the city during the evening hours at various establishments and ceremonies. During the school and summer semester, he worked for Mike Pendowski as his assistant. Tasks he performed include grading papers to writing music parts or tests. He is now looking forward to being a life long learner and is perusing his master's degree in Jazz Performance and is the Graduate Assistant of Band at Western Illinois University.
Erin Alderson
Erin Alderson is currently pursuing a graduate degree in Music Education at Western Illinois University. In May of 2008, Erin received a bachelors degree of Music from Lake Forest College in Illinois. At Lake Forest, Erin studied Bassoon with Collin Anderson, Orchestral Conducting with David Amrein, and Choral conducting with Kirk-Evan Billet. Erin was assistant conductor for the Lake Forest College orchestra and performed with the Full Score Orchestra in Zion, Illinois. During her senior year, Erin arranged for full orchestra and conducted Henry Purcell's opera Dido and Aeneas. Erin is a member of MENC and the International Double Reed Society.
