The SEVENTH ANNUAL SECONDARY SCIENCE EDUCATION CONFERENCE at Western Illinois University will be held Friday APRIL 18.  Registration will begin that day at 8am, the first general session will begin at 8:30, and we will conclude the conference at approximately 2:45pm.  This conference is designed for high school science teachers across all disciplines.  We are still in the process of confirming speakers at this time but, as we have done for the past many years, are working to have a program that involves all areas of the sciences and a mix of activity-based and concept-based sessions.  We will also have two to three sessions that focus on students with special needs.

As in the past, verification forms for CPDU credit will be awarded participants at this meeting.  This should prove to be another informative and rewarding conference and we look forward to you joining us.

Please fill out the registration form immediately (available above on this website) and send it in while you are still thinking about it (deadline, Wednesday, April 9).  A luncheon is included in the cost of the conference.  The conference registration fee is $35.   ISTA is supporting us financially in hosting this conference.  As part of that agreement, they are willing to reduce their annual membership dues by $5 for those people registering for both the conference and joining or renewing their membership with the ISTA organization.  If you plan to join ISTA or renew your membership as part of your registration, please complete the ISTA membership form found at the following web site (http://www.ista-il.org/membership.htm)  and check the appropriate box on the Conference Registration form.  Note, this discount is only for those planning to attend the conference and join ISTA.   If you choose to send in your registration materials via e-mail, then please bring a copy of the completed ISTA membership form with you the day of the conference.  We will send those materials in as a group immediately following the conference.

We will periodically provide updates at this web site including the finalized schedule when ready.  If you have questions about the conference, please do not hesitate to contact Dr. Laura Barden-Gabbei by e-mail at lm-barden@wiu.edu or by phone at (309) 298-1546/1679.
