Yvonne Savala, Moline, IL; appointed 2013

Yvonne Savala was appointed to the Western Illinois University Board of Trustees on February 25, 2013. She is the Operations Director at Midwest Intellectual Property Management Institute, an economic development initiative in the Midwest region. Ms. Savala previously served the City of Moline as City Clerk, and administered the Rental Housing Inspections Program initiative focusing on early prevention of deteriorating neighborhoods.

She has an associate degree from Black Hawk College, bachelor’s in business management and technology from St. Ambrose University, and a master’s in public administration from Drake University.

In junior college, Ms. Savala was a three-sport athlete. Since then she has been active in the community mentoring, coaching and fundraising for youth athletics. 

In the community, she has been a supporter and participant for cancer awareness events such as the Relay for Life and Race for the Cure. She has been a past volunteer for cultural programs such as VIVA Quad Cities and Casa Guanajuato. Ms. Savala is a member of the Greater Quad City Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
